Italian Greyhound Rescue:
Tails Me About It is very proud to be involved with IG rescue. We strongly believe that anyone interested in getting ANY kind of pet, whether it is a dog or a cat, it should be done via rescue groups. We recently got involved with the Italian Greyhound Club of America taking in our first foster named Wiggums. We are proud to say we were unsuccessful at fostering him and he is now part of our family ;o) We fell in love with Mr. Wiggums and just had to keep him. Even though we did adopt Wiggums we still make ourselves available to the IGCA by offering our time and home for other rescue needs.
There are thousands of IG’s as well as other breeds that are in need of loving homes. Please support and adopt from your local rescue before heading to pet stores. We are providing a direct link to the IGCA’s site so that you can locate your local IG rescue groups. The IGCA’s adoption fee is very low considering the work that goes into getting these little angels ready for a warm loving home. IGCA fees are approximately $250.

Donations:
Tails Me About It is now donating 10% of martingale and martingale lead sales to the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation. Groups like IGCA rely heavily on donations to rescue, spay/neuter, vaccinate and feed these loving dogs. This is why we will be doing our part to make sure IG’s like Wiggums always find a loving home. Please help support IGCA by clicking on the link above and send a donation TODAY!
About IGCA:
IGCA Rescue is a club sponsored re-homing service provided for Italian Greyhounds that have been abandoned at animal shelters, taken from abusive homes or surrendered to Rescue due to the death or divorce of the former owner. Occasionally, dogs are turned over to Rescue because the owner can no longer keep the dog and the dog was acquired from a source to which it cannot be returned.
IGCA Rescue volunteers foster these dogs in their homes, where their health and temperament are evaluated. All dogs are taken for a veterinary check-up: when necessary, vaccinations are updated, the animal is neutered/spayed and its teeth are cleaned. Each Italian Greyhound is evaluated so that it can be placed in a home suitable to both the dog and the new owner.
Our Handsome Mr. Wiggums:

Wiggums is a 10 year old Italian Greyhound that was rescued by the IGCA. This biggy Iggy, at 23lbs, stole our hearts within days…he is the most well trained love bug you will ever meet. Once you start petting him, he will never let you stop. We don’t know much about his background other than his previous owners were going through a divorce and decided to give him up. It’s a shame Wiggums has had to go through this experience, but he quickly found his way to us. Along with our other 2 Italian Greyhounds, and 4 cats, Wiggums gets nothing but love at all times.
